Streszczenie
The paper presents selected issues associated with the linguistic-acoustic method employed at the Speech and Audio Laboratory in Bratislava (Kriminalistický a expertízny ústav Policajného zboru, henceforth referred to as KEÚ) and the Section for Speech and Audio Analyses, Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow (henceforth referred to as IES). In the first part of their report, the authors define differences between the Polish and Slovak languages, concentrating in particular on such phenomena that should be regarded as the most useful in the process of speaker identification. Next, the report presents similarities and differences between ways of performing identification studies, as well as describing an attempt at evaluating the effectiveness of the adopted solutions. Becoming acquainted with the methodology of recording examinations employed in the Bratislava KEÚ laboratory was possible thanks to the Leonardo da Vinci exchange program, in which one of the authors of this paper participated.

Based on research performed at the Speech and Audio Laboraory, Police Institute of Criminalistics and Forensic Expertise (KEÚ) in Bratislava and the Laboratory for Speech and Audio Analysis, Institute of Forensic Research (IES), Krakow.
