MULTIDRUG POISONINGS IN THE PRACTICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC MEDICINE OF THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SILESIA IN KATOWICE

Streszczenie
The authors present complex poisonings investigated over the last 10 years at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Medical University of Silesia, Katowice. The examined cases related mainly to suicidal poisonings, where mixtures of either several drugs or drug(s) and alcohol were involved. Such compounds as phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants, cardiac drugs, benzo¬diazepines, barbiturates and carbamazepine were found. Complex intoxications by benzodiazepines or opiate narcotics were the most common in accidental poisonings (overdosage).
