Streszczenie
Establishing authenticity and authorship of a questioned document containing writing appearing on unusual surfaces, using unconventional writing instruments, is an area of document examination which looks fascinating. Therefore, a systematic study has been conducted on documents prepared from unconventional materials, such as, make-up cosmetic articles like kajal stick and lipstick (as writing instruments) and tissue paper and wall-mirror (as writing surfaces). Accordingly, studies were conducted on the voluntary writing samples provided by 30 individuals using the usual pen-paper and unusual kajal-tissue, lipstick-tissue, kajal-mirror and lipstick-mirror combinations. For verifying the results of the study a blind study was carried out by a handwriting expert, for which the questioned and the standard writings were taken from the experimental writing samples generated for the main study. The purpose of carrying out these studies was to examine and report the changes in handwriting characteristics, which could be observed due to the unusual writing instruments and surfaces together with their impact on the overall identifiability of writing and expert’s conclusions there-on.
