Streszczenie
Giving medicolegal opinions for criminal proceedings in the case of competitiveness in a cause of death encounters a lot of difficulties. An ambiguous autopsy image together with histopathological and chemo-toxicological examinations does not always allow establishing explicitly the direct cause and pathomechanism of death. To illustrate this still relevant problem, the authors present the case of death of a 17-year-old man, which was investigated in the Department of Forensic Medicine, Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. He was supposed to have drunk a large amount of ethyl alcohol in a short time. Explanatory proceedings disclosed that the deceased sustained a blunt injury to abdomen and might have taken drugs.
