Streszczenie
Results of chemo-toxicological examinations of biological material of 3 deceased persons, of whom 2 died after propaphenone overdose and the third after consumption of unknown therapeutic substances are presented in the paper. Ethanol was found in the body fluids of two of the deceased. The analytical procedures used allowed both identification and quantitative determination of the drug. Its concentrations were as follows: 17.10–24.80 μg/ml in blood, 7.5–274.0 μg/g in stomach, 6.7–29.40 μg/g in liver and 9.4–24.0 μg/g in kidney. The obtained results of the determinations and also knowledge about the circumstances of death allowed us to assume that deaths of 2 persons resulted from excessive propaphenone consumption in a state of insobriety and the death of the third was caused by propaphenone overdose alone.
