Streszczenie
The population study was carried out on 200 unrelated male individuals from south-east Poland. Amplification products were separated using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and silver staining method. During the population study five different alleles were identified, the most frequent of which were alleles 15 (0.285) and 16 (0.280). Statistically significant differences in frequency of alleles of locus DYS19 between the population of south-east and five other European populations were demonstrated. A similar distribution of alleles was found only in males from Northern Poland and Bratislava. The highly informative quality of the DYS 19 system was confirmed by PIC (0.731) and D (0.7559) values, which were calculated on the basis of the results of the study.
