METHODS OF RECOVERING THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMPRESSION EVIDENCE IN SNOW FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF APPLYING NEW TECHNOLOGIES

Streszczenie
Collecting deep (three-dimensional) impressions is one of the most difficult tasks faced by the technician at the scene of an incident. This is because tracks (impressions) in snow can melt, or be damaged or deformed during recovery. In the article, the authors present ways of collecting such impressions with the help of traditional methods and the possibility of using 3D imaging for this purpose.
The aim of this publication is to compare the most popular methods of recovering tracks using universally applied methods of 3D scanning and imaging, and, as a result, to demonstrate the possibilities of using 3D scanning and imaging methods for the purpose of recovering three-dimensional impressions in snow. Such a methodology may constitute an alternative recovery method, or an additional one, preceding a traditional gypsum casting.
