Streszczenie
The opium alkaloid concentrations in post-mortem material in fatal cases, and in blood samples taken from drivers have been presented. Materials were taken from routine casework. The source of opium alkaloids abused in Poland is "kompot". The identification of the components of "kompot" by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) methods is described. "Kompot" showed variable contents of morphine, heroin, 6-monoacetylmorphine, 3-monoacetylmorphine, acetylcodeine and codeine. Toxicological analyses indicated opium alkaloids (and morphine) in many cases together with benzodiazepines (found in 60% of the cases) and barbiturates (in 35% of the cases) and even amphetamine related compounds. The opiate group concentrations in blood (n = 60), urine (n = 27), liver (n = 15) and kidney (n = 9) specimens ranged from 0.1-24.2 mg/l, 0.2-126.1 mg/l, 0.3-10.1 mg/l and 0.3-8.9 mg/l respectively. Whereas the determined morphine concentrations in blood, urine and liver were 0.05-10.3 mg/l, 1.2-64.3 mg/l and 0.6-7.2 mg/l.
