Streszczenie
At the turn of the twentieth and the twenty-first century, a relatively new branch of forensic medicine - forensic serology - will celebrate its 100th anniversary. The present work focuses upon some of the crucial moments in the history of this new science which has influenced its present state. The development of modern research methods and their application in forensic sciences make it possible to examine those biological traces, which, so far, have not been included in the court proceedings due to the lack of methods of their analysis. Thanks to the improvement of sensitivity and specificacity of the used research techniques, the forensic serology has made its contribution to the minimalization of the possibility of the judicial error.
