Streszczenie
The lecture about this subject provides a short historical overview of ears and earprints in relation to the forensic field. The present state of the art will be mentioned as well as research that has been done or is about to start in this field. The relation between these marks and other better known and accepted marks like fingerprints and DNA will be discussed. Characteristic features will be highlighted to indicate the individualising properties of ears and earprints.
