Streszczenie
This paper discusses the relationship between strain and alienation in a group of young offenders with reference to Robert Agnew’s General Strain Theory and to Melvin Seeman’s Alienation Theory. The research poses the following central question, “is there a relationship between the sense of strain (of different types) and the categories of alienation?” The hypotheses were tested on 179 young adult male prisoners. The paper concludes by drawing practical conclusions.
