Streszczenie
As a bye-product of technological advancement, the digital fabrication of signatures is made easier due to the innovation in computer based image editing tools and modern reproduction techniques. The present study has been conducted to find out the symptoms of forgery in digitally fabricated signatures. As many as thirty digitally fabricated signature samples in printed format were prepared, which were examined and analysed using the conventional magnifying lenses and stereomicroscope as well as the electronic modes like the Adobe Photoshop. Some of the symptoms of forgery which could be observed in the fabricated samples thus prepared, are; alignment defect, background traces, irregularity in half-tone pattern shape and density, changes in uniformity and consistency of letters, variation in letter spacing, over-deposition of ink or toner particles in the stroke, position of diacritic, evidence of overlapping in strokes. The detection and analysis of such like features could be helpful to distinguish a fabricated signature from the standard signatures of the real person.
