Streszczenie
The paper presents the results of a psychological analysis of 116 homicide cases with the aim of determining the relationship between the behaviour of victims and the modus operandi of perpetrators. Six groups were differentiated according to the main motive of the homicide: sexually motivated homicides, homicides where the main motive was pathology (delusion), economically motivated homicides, revenge homicides, homicides motivated by a sense of harm and homicides where the motivation could not be determined. Subsequently, the groups were compared with regard to the influence of the victim on such elements of the modus operandi of the perpetrator as: planning of the homicide, contact between the victim and the perpetrator, the way in which death was inflicted, the location of the injuries. The results of the research showed that the influence of the victim's role (in shaping the situation leading to the homicide) on the way in which it was committed, varied between groups.
