Regardless of the judicial system and traditions and regardless of the scientific standard of a forensic laboratory's experts there is still a need for a quality system. Forensic scientists should be involved in the development of their own quality system while forensic science in some aspects differs from other sciences. To avoid a "home blindness" a laboratory ought to be accredited since that involves external auditing.
