Streszczenie
The aim of the research was to undertake a comprehensive comparison of the effectiveness of selected methods of enhancement and contrasting fingerprints in blood: by means of Amido Black, Hungarian Red, cyanoacrylate, ninhydrin and ABTS on surfaces with different absorptive properties, taking into account the age of prints at the moment of revealing, the degree of their saturation and the conditions of storage of the surfaces. Horse’s blood was used in the experiment as a safe substitute for human blood. Series of fingerprints in blood of decreasing degrees of saturation were left on samples of surfaces, which were then stored in indoor and outdoor conditions. Test fingerprints were revealed at 3 and 21 days after producing, then the effectiveness of used methods was analysed by counting visible minutiae and comparing their number with results of counting performed the day after leaving the imprints. The research allowed us to single out the most effective and universal method of enhancement of bloody prints.
