Streszczenie
An attempt to murder a woman was carried out by setting an improvised explosive device near a grave at a parish cemetery that she frequently visited. The woman was heavily wounded upon discharge of the booby-trap. Metal, plastic and wood fragments from the bomb together with traces of explosives used were found in the wound channel of the victim’s thigh and at the crime scene. These fragments, some samples of soil from several places on the bomb crater and some materials from the suspect’s lockup garage were collected as evidence in the case. Examination of the evidence materials with the use of various analytical methods, performed at the Institute of Forensic Research, confirmed some links between the crime scene and the suspect.
